KANDI DIDN’T PAY HER EMPLOYEE!!

Former employee of Kandi Burruss, Johnnie Winston filed a lawsuit against his former boss for failing to pay him overtime.

Johnnie Winston took his case to Burruss former friend Phaedra Parks, who respectively decline the case, but that didn’t stop Winston.

According to documents from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Johnnie Winston is suing his ex boss Kandi and Kandi Koated Entertainment for “Failure to pay overtime and minimum wage in violation of the Fair Labor Act of 1938.

Johnnie served as an event manager, studio manager, and production coordinator from August 2013 to February 2016, and claims Kandi failed to pay him wages for working in the studio, preparing meals for events, planning events, running errands, performing housekeeping duties, and more.

Throughout his employment, Winston was paid five days a week.

After a promotion to event planner, Winston duties  increased and was required to work seven days a week for 20 hours a day.

Winston was terminated on April 20, 2015 before being rehired a month later.

From the beginning and end to his employment, the defendants failed to pay Johnnie Winston any overtime pay for performing his duties. Winston claims Kandi denied his request to pay up.

Winston demanded trial by a jury and asks to be granted “liquidated damages in an additional amount equal to back pay and benefits.”

In Kandi Burruss’ response to the lawsuit filed, she denied the allegations against her and asks the complaint to be dismissed with prejudice.

On a recent episode of RHOA, Burruss explained her reasoning for terminating her longtime employee.

Kandi stated: “The reason you were let go is because you have your side company, It was business.”

Shheeshhh Kandi!
