SACRAMENTO KINGS FORWARD ADDRESSES ASSAULT RUMORS
Allegedly, Matt Barnes of the Sacramento Kings engaged in an argument with a woman at a nightclub in Chelsea, New York. The altercation is said to have ended in Barnes choking the woman which caused her minor injuries. Apparently, in an attempt to break up the fight, two other women and one man were physically involved, and those witnesses identified Barnes as the perpetrator.
Barnes took to Instagram after the incident and stated, “There’s always two sides to a story.. the side the media consistently tries to paint of me.. and what actually happened! Don’t believe everything you read”
The Kings organization also released a statement which read, “We have clear standards of conduct and behavior expected of the entire Kings organization – on and off the court. We are working with all parties involved to gather information in order to take any appropriate next steps.”
