THE RAPPER GAVE QUITE THE RESPONSE WHEN ASKED ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

The Internet is going berserk over rapper Lil Wayne’s recent comments about Black Lives Matter and his disconnection to the movement.

According to XXL Mag:

In a new interview with ABC Nightline, Lil Wayne says he doesn’t feel connected to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Asked about the movement in the video above, Wayne responds, “What is it? What do you mean? That just sounds weird. I don’t know, that you put a name on it…It’s not a name, it’s not, ‘whatever whatever.’ It’s somebody got shot by a policeman for a fucked up reason.

“I am a young, black rich motherfucker,” he continues in the edited clip. “If that don’t let you know that America understand black motherfuckers matter these days, I don’t know what it is. That man white, he filmin’ me. I’m a nigga. I don’t know what you mean, man. Don’t come at me with that dumb shit, man. My life matter. Especially to my bitches.”

Asked if he feels connected to the movement, he says, “I don’t feel connected to a damn thing that ain’t got nothin’ to do with me. If you do, you crazy as shit. You. Not the camera. You. Feeling connected to something that ain’t got nothing to do with you? If it ain’t got nothing to do with me, I ain’t connected to it.”

The full interview is said to be released soon. Twitter isn’t waiting to go off, though. See their reactions below.

The comments come after Lil Wayne said racism had never effected his life back in September on FS1’s Undisputed show. “I have never, and never is a strong word, never dealt with racism and I’m glad I didn’t have to. I don’t know if it’s because of my blessings but it is my reality,” he said at the time.

He later doubled down on the sentiment in an interview with the Associated Press, detailing how a white cop saved his life, thus helping to shape how he viewed racism. “Yeah, he was a cop, and my life was saved by a white man,” Wayne said. “I don’t know what racism is. I know a good (expletive) named Uncle Bob, though. He was white as snow. Them (expletive) that hopped over me were blacker than me.
