Actress and basketball wife Gabrielle Union is suing television network BET for allegedly trying to fraudulently extend her contract for ‘Being Mary Jane…’ The actress claims the network is combining season four and five to lower pay and extend contract.
According to Rhymes With Snitch, reports claim Gabrielle Union agreed to shoot no more than 13 episodes of Being Mary Jane per season at $150k an episode, but was informed one week before principal photography for season 4 that BET intended to tape two 10-episode seasons back-to-back in order to “cram all of the episodes into a single season,” negating her $15k per episode season 5 pay raise.
Union is seeking at least $1 million and an order that her contract be amended to reflect that there be a maximum of 13 episodes per season.
