Drake has broke Michael Jackson’s previous record of 11 nods from 1984. It was released today that the Views rapper has been nominated for 13 American Music Awards. This means that Drake has officially broken a 32-year record for the most American Music Awards nominations in the world! Drake has been having a good year because In July of this year, the Toronto rapper tied Michael Jackson’s Billboard record by becoming the second male solo artist to ever hold the No. 1 song and album on the Billboard charts for seven weeks straight! Drake did so through the continued performance of his hit single “One Dance” off his latest album Views.
2016 has been good to Drake. The 6ix God has been racking up successes all year long. To date, the aforementioned album has been the first LP of 2016 to go Triple platium, has racked up over a billion streams on Apple Music and has won album of the year at the 2016 BET Hip-Hop Awards. Drake is simply killing the music industry this year!
