California officer claims self-defense in new police shooting this morning. Find out why?
A black man has recently lost his life after being shot by police in El Cajon, California. As warranted, it sparked protests in the suburb northeast of San Diego.
Similar to many of the stories across America, El Cajon responded to a 911 call regarding an African-American man in his 30s who was reported behaving “erratically” behind a local restaurant at the Broadway Village Shopping Center, Lt. Rob Ransweiler said.According to CNN news, “In response, an officer fired his gun at the man, while the second officer discharges his Taser.” Police Chief Jeff Davis explained investigators did not find a firearm at the scene of the shooting.
The officers are being handled by being placed on a three-day administrative leave. Both officers involved in the incident have more than two decades of experience as police officers.
