The results of the presidential election have already been stirring up controversy across the United States. One California teen, Jade Armenio, was assaulted for supporting Donald Trump on her social media account.
The attack was captured on cellphone video. Armenio and her parents could not believe that something like that happened.
According to Armenio, a fellow student hit her, threw her to the ground, ripped out her earrings and pulled her hair. She was left with scratches, bruises, and a bloody nose after the attack.
On election night, Armenio made a post on Instagram before the results came in saying that she hoped Trump won the presidency. She was then confronted about her political views at school the next day.
The principle of Woodside High School issued a statement saying that the incident was investigated by law enforcement and disciplinary action has been taken.
Armenio has been receiving hate mail on social media but she isn’t letting it get her down. Her parents are keeping her out of school until they are sure that she is safe.
