ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta Hawks are preparing to launch their 2026–2027 NBA season with a road matchup against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, October 21, as the franchise looks to build on its progress from last season.
Head coach Quin Snyder enters the new campaign focused on consistency, team chemistry and establishing a competitive identity in the Eastern Conference.
Atlanta is expected to maintain much of the starting lineup that developed chemistry during the second half of last season, while several new faces will provide additional depth off the bench.
Forward Jalen Johnson remains a key figure in the Hawks’ plans. His versatility, scoring ability and playmaking give Atlanta an important offensive weapon as the team looks to make another postseason push.
The matchup against Orlando will provide an early test for the Hawks, who face a Magic team beginning a new chapter under head coach Sean Sweeney.
For Atlanta, success will depend on defensive discipline, efficient ball movement and the ability to maintain strong performances throughout the season.
The Hawks will open the season at Orlando’s Kia Center, with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
With a fresh season underway, Atlanta fans will be watching closely to see whether the Hawks can turn their roster’s potential into a successful playoff campaign.
