ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta Falcons delivered one of their biggest victories of the season Sunday, defeating the previously unbeaten San Francisco 49ers 29–20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Entering the matchup as underdogs, the Falcons responded with a strong performance against one of the NFL’s top teams.
Atlanta’s defense played a major role in the victory, limiting San Francisco’s opportunities and delivering crucial stops throughout the contest. A late interception by Kendal Daniels helped secure the win and ended the 49ers’ undefeated start.
The victory was especially meaningful for Atlanta after consecutive losses had raised concerns about the team’s consistency.
It also marked the Falcons’ first home victory of the season, giving fans a reason for renewed optimism as the team continues its campaign.
The challenge now is maintaining that level of performance. With more difficult games ahead, Atlanta will look to turn the statement victory into sustained momentum.
