MARTA Raising Long-Term Parking Rates at Several Atlanta-Area Stations

0

ATLANTA — MARTA riders who use long-term parking will soon see higher prices as the transit agency prepares to update parking fees across several stations.

Beginning Monday, September 14, 2026, MARTA will increase long-term parking rates by $2 per day at all of its paid long-term parking facilities. At the same time, the amount of time drivers can park for free at those facilities will decrease from 24 hours to 14 hours. Existing free daily parking locations will not be affected.

Under the new pricing structure, long-term parking at College Park, Doraville, Lindbergh Center and North Springswill increase from $8 to $10 per day once a vehicle has been parked longer than 14 hours.

At Dunwoody, Kensington, Lenox, Medical Center and Sandy Springs, the long-term rate will rise from $5 to $7 per day after the 14-hour free period.

MARTA says the additional revenue will help cover maintenance and improvements at its parking facilities while supporting future upgrades and security measures. Recent parking improvements have included automated gates, payment kiosks, license-plate readers and upgraded lighting. The agency also wants its parking operations to become more financially self-sufficient.

The upcoming adjustment marks MARTA’s first system-wide parking rate increase since 2009, although some end-of-line stations received price increases in 2017.

For riders who use MARTA parking for airport trips, work travel or other extended stays, the change means planning for both a shorter free-parking window and higher daily costs beginning September 14.

MARTA says free daily parking options throughout the system will continue to be available and will not be impacted by the new long-term rates.
