The trial is scheduled to kick off at the beginning of 2024, only three out of the original 12 defendants will be tried. Seven of the defendants have accepted plea deals in the past couple of weeks. The maximum sentence a defendant’s received was 20 years, eight to serve, and the minimum sentence was probation. It’s unclear whether any of their plea deals require cooperation. The news comes after Lucci rejected a plea deal back in June.
Lucci’s attorneys, Drew Findling and Gabe Banks, told TMZ that District Attorney Fani Willis’ terms were “absurd.” They further accused her of “intentionally dragging her feet” in the case of their client.
