Several Atlanta local organizations are teaming up with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Ronald McDonald House charities to bring immunizations to children ages 4 and up.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will be offering free school-required immunizations to families of Atlanta’s west side between July 29 – August 8.

Even though a lot students are learning virtually this semester, they are still required to be compliant with their immunization schedule.

“As you can imagine in a pandemic, we want to make sure everyone is still staying on top their regular immunization so that we don’t have any other outbreaks on our hands, so it’s super important and we are making ourselves accessible here in the community so that kids can come and visit us and get those for free,” said Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta spokesperson Katie Raborn.

Officials say there will be increased safety precautions, including social distancing, universal masking and temperature screenings.

“the way that we’ve set these clinics up in the community. We have a drive up and a walk up option to try to limit any crowding and social distancing,” Raborn said.
