Police want to find the drivers who blocked traffic on I-285 and did donuts in the middle of the interstate.
Drivers shut down the airport runway tunnel while they competed in what’s known as drift racing, more commonly known as performing “donuts.”A crowd gathered in the emergency lane, and some lit fireworks. Others videotaped the burnouts. Witnesses called 911. As police officers approached, the large group dispersed. Clayton County police said the investigation is ongoing and sent a statement that reads in part:“The Clayton County Police Department has no tolerance stance on drift racing, the elevated potential for loss of life and serious injury, but most importantly the disrespect for the laws and the citizens of this County. It is for this reason that we, in conjunction with surrounding law enforcement agencies, are working together to combat this blatantly devious behavior.”
