A fatal firery wreck claims 2 lives
Two individuals were killed Saturday in a blazing accident including a fuel tanker that shut down I-85 for quite a long time in Gwinnett County.
Huge flares and thick dark smoke could be seen surging several feet over the interstate after a tanker carrying 8,500 gallons of fuel slammed close to the Jimmy Carter Boulevard exit just before 8 a.m., authorities said. As police moved toward the location of the accident, officials saw a huge blast. The fuel from the tanker at that point entered a close by storm channel, inciting the fire to spread toward the southbound paths of the interstate.
