Tay-K has been sentenced to 55 years in prison after being found guilty of murder, the Fort Worth Star Telegram and CBS’ Fort Worth affiliate report. The 19-year-old rapper was also sentenced to 30 years in prison on one count of aggravated robbery and given two additional 13-year prison sentences on two other counts of aggravated robbery. In addition, Tay-K was fined a total of $21,000, according to the Star Telegram’s Deanna Boyd. Tay-K’s sentences will run concurrently, according to the Star Telegram.

A Tarrant County, Texas jury found Tay-K guilty of murder last Friday, July 19. The rapper was accused of participating in a botched July 2016 home invasion robbery that left 21-year-old Ethan Walker dead. Tay-K was 16 years old at the time of the incident.

Tay-K rose to fame in 2017 after he released the music video for his song “The Race,” which he recorded while on the lam. The same day that Tay-K shared the video (June 30, 2017), he was apprehended by the United States Marshals Service in Elizabeth, New Jersey. “The Race” was certified as platinum last year.
