KAEPERNICK GOT MORE PULL AT NIKE THAN Y’ALL THOUGHT!!
The limited-edition Air Max 1 sneaker was supposed to go on sale this week for $140, in honor of the Fourth of July. The shoes had already been shipped to retailers when the decision was made not to sell them. According to reports, Kaepernick among several others expressed concerns about the use of the Betsy Ross flag on the shoe design, because of it’s historical ties to slavery and racism in the USA. The thirteen-star flag is representative of an era of slavery, which Kaepernick argues “doesn’t warrant celebration.” Nike canceled its plans to sell the sneaker during Fourth of July weekend.
