Why is a 12-year-old facing felony charges?
A 12-year-old rapper named Corey J was arrested this past October for allegedly selling CDs at a mall right here in Georgia. A video then surfaced via social media showing the young boy being aggressively grabbed by the police and threatened with being arrested. Now, the young rapper is facing felony charges for the alleged act. Corey J’s lawyer denied all the charges and said “When he was there, he was not selling any CDs or doing anything that would have been prohibited he was there meeting other artists.” It has been noted that the young boy was visiting family when he was arrested in the Georgia mall’s food court. Corey J and his lawyer Mawuli Davis appeared in front of a judge to face a felony obstruction charge. According to police, they reported that the young boy was in trouble for selling CDs at the mall twice before.
