Boycottttt??!! Boycotttt??!!!
Recently, Gucci has been facing backlash after they distributed a sweater that coincides with blackface. Many celebrities, such as Soulja Boy and Spike Lee, have been convincing others to boycott the exclusive brand. They have also spoken out contrary to the brand since the sweaters release.
Recently, TMZ caught up with Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather outside of the Gucci store in Beverly Hills, and asked him about the brands’ dispute. Apparently, he doesn’t give a d*mn about the boycott. Mayweather made it obvious that he buys what he wants. He said, “I don’t got nothing against nobody. My thing is, I support everybody, I like everybody, and my thing is this, I like to live life and do what I got to do. I’m not no follower, I do what the f**k I wanna do. Because everybody says, ‘wear this, or don’t wear this’, I’m going to wear what the f**k I want to wear.” The boxer dropped a whole lot of racks at the Gucci store on Monday.
It was then brought up that some people, such as T.I. and Spike Lee, may be upset for his decision to continue to support Gucci. He laughed, then he stated, “You said they’re gonna be upset with me? I love it, I love it, I love it. See the thing is I live for myself. I do what I want to do.”
After he was done shopping, he walked out of the Gucci store with a ton of bags and stated, “We all know racism still exists but that’s not gonna stop my drive. I’ve got friends from all walks of life and to me of course, black lives matter first … but my thing is this, I’m gonna continue to go out there live life and be happy.” “Half of the people that’s on social media saying, ‘Don’t wear this, don’t wear that,’ I ain’t never seen none of them supporting The Money Team.”
