KANDI SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT!
During a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, the group and Jermaine Dupri conversed about why she Kandi isn’t interested in recording new music with the group.
Kandi stated:
“No, I feel like I really enjoy performing with my group members, but at this age, I want to be able to do whatever I want to do and business-wise, I want to be able to be in control of my own situation. You know when you’re doing business with four different people with four situations…everybody has their own mindset of how they want to handle business. And the more and more stuff you do together, it’s kind of like, ‘OK,’ you know? When you’re doing a tour, it’s like, ‘OK, we’re doing this tour, and we’re going to make it happen.’ And the fans I loving it, and that’s awesome…Well, yeah. Like back in the day, we sold multi-platinum records, and it’s not the same as it was then. You know what I’m saying? Now it’s a totally different way that people sell records, and I don’t know if it’ll ever be back the same as it once was, as far as having multiple platinum hits. So in my mind I feel like, ‘Why tarnish that?’ If you’re on top, why put out a record that may be like ‘meh?’
