KANYE WEST APOLOGIZES FOR SLAVE COMMENT
Kanye West has publicly apologized for his slavery comment.
In May, Kanye West stated that slavery sounds like a choice while speaking with TMZ. Today, he apologizes for his commentary during a radio interview with Kendra G. of Chicago.
The interviewer sheds light on the amount of power Kanye West has as a black man and how she desires for him to always speak for the betterment of black people.
As a response, he acknowledges that he is not sure whether he properly apologized for his previous thoughts. He expresses, “I want to take this moment right now to say I’m sorry for hurting – for the one-two effect of the MAGA hat into the slave comment. I’m sorry to people who felt let down by that moment…”
He continues with gratitude, stating, “I appreciate you guys giving me the opportunity to talk to you about the way I was thinking and what I was going through. I just appreciate you guys holding on to me as a family… I learned how much black people love me.”
Radio Personality Kendra G. accepts his apology.
