OMEGA MEN SAVE LIVES
According to WALB, the men of the Omega Psi Phi Chapter in Albany were headed to a conference in New Orleans when they saved a person’s life on I-10.
When they were about 37 miles out, they noticed smoke coming from a car so they sprung into action.
The four brothers of Omega Psi Phi said they where just a few cars behind when they jumped out of their car and saw a Budget Truck laying on its side.
One of the men said the driver of the truck was hanging by his seat belt.
He said they saw oil and smoke coming from the inside.
Then they took action.
“Got up, go the seat belt unhooked, pulled him out, and then that’s when the fire started. We started backing other people up out the way so we could get like a clearance, so if it was to blow up that we wouldn’t have any vehicles or anyone around it,” said Anthony Thomas, one of the Omegas.
Thomas said the driver was very appreciative of what they did for him.
Those Omegas are back in Albany.
They said they appreciate all the support they have gotten through social media on this story.
