GAMBINO’S MANAGER SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT!!

“This is America” came in the form of a video that showcased and visually covered many different topics like gun violence, gun control, racism, and more. Now, a rapper on the rise has accused Childish Gambino of biting, saying “This is America” was lifted from his song “American Pharaoh.”

Jase Harley, the rapper who accused Gambino of lifting the track, released “American Pharaoh” two years ago, and both tracks sound similar to each other—down to the hook of the song. Many took to the rapper’s Soundcloud to comment on the similarities, which led Harley to give his thoughts. He said “Lol word a shout out would be cool, all good tho. He’s a great artist, dope I could’ve had some influence on the record.”

Gambino’s manager, Fam “Rothstein” Udeorji, addressed these plagiarism claims in a tweet that is now deleted.

“The Internet is a place of no consequences. I hate that [blogger] Toronto Akademiks/every white blogger can say something gospel and y’all take it. this song is 3 yrs old, and we have the pro tool files to prove it,” Udeorji said of the highly acclaimed “This Is America,” which debuted No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 after being released May 7.

However, within hours of sharing his response, Udeorji deleted the tweet.
