One of Floyd Mayweather’s bodyguards was shot in front of an upscale hotel in Buckhead early Monday morning at InterContinental Buckhead Hotel between 2 and 3 a.m.
Investigators said three vehicles belonging to Mayweather and his entourage were returning to the hotel from Medusa nightclub on Buford Highway when another vehicle pulled up beside them and fired several times.
One of the people in the vehicles was hit in the leg. He was later taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The victim was identified as Greg La Rosa. He was released from the hospital Monday around 5:30 a.m.
Police also said Monday afternoon that they believe whoever shot at Mayweather’s entourage was specifically targeting them.
Police said the boxer “may have been in one of the other vehicles in the caravan and was not injured.”
