It’s becoming all to prevalent now! The two police officers that were involved in the July 2016 fatal shooting of Baton Rouge Native, Alton Sterling wont be facing any charges.
After meeting members of Sterling’s family privately, Jeff Landry released a statement at a morning press conference stating “After a thorough and exhaustive review of the evidence … the Louisiana Department of Justice cannot proceed with a prosecution of either officer,” “This decision was not taken lightly, we came to this conclusion after countless hours of reviewing the evidence,”.
Alton Sterling was shot in the chest and in the back by officer Blane Salamini. The entire incident was caught on camera and went viral which sparked protests nationwide.
