GEORGIA RANKED #9!

A new study names Georgia as the 9th worst state to raise a family. Low scores in education, child care, health, and safety have all contributed to rank Georgia among the worst states to raise a family.

Analysts at WalletHub ranked all 50 states on five categories: family fun, health and safety, education and child care, affordability and socioeconomics. The website went even further to examine 42 other metrics for the five categories such as number of family attractions, share of uninsured children, quality of public hospitals, quality of public schools, child care costs, air pollution, wealth gap and median mortgage. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale.

Data for the study was collected from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and others.

Massachusetts was deemed the best state to raise a family with a score of 63.37 points. New Mexico scored 32.68 and ranked dead last for education and child care.

Last year WalletHub ranked Georgia as the eighth-worst state in the country to raise a family.
