ATTEMPTED TERRORIST ATTACK IN NEW YORK CITY SUBWAY STATION…
Akayed Ullah, 27, was taken into custody after detonating an “improvised low-tech explosive device.” Ullah said he attempted this attack in the name of ISIS. According to officials he watched ISIS propaganda online and read other extremist writing, like Inspire, an al-Qaeda propaganda magazine.
It is clear that the pipe bomb was detonated but did not have the desired effect. The chemical agent that was inside the pipe bomb went off but the actual pipe did not shatter which reduced the blast.
Ullah was taken to Bellevue Hospital on Manhattan’s East Side with serious burns to his hands and abdomen. Three others were treated at the hospital for minor injuries including ringing ears, and headaches.
Over 6 million people rely on the subway everyday during there commute. If Ullah would of got his desired effect its no telling how many could have been hurt. We will keep you posted with any updates to this story.
