Georgia Dome Implosion set for Nov.20th!

Atlanta – Construction work is getting heavy as its almost time to shut down the Georgia Dome. The area where it once was located is now empty and trashed close to the scene of a disaster zone. As officials tried many attempts to shut down the dome, it will finally come down to an end. In less than seconds The Georgia Dome is going to fall down at 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 20th.

Dome officials say that the bottom half of the dome, where the field once was is already gone and filled with concrete.

In order for the implosion to go right without any problems, The Georgia Dome authorities say the Implosion would have to rise straight up towards the sky instead of crashing out the sides of the building. The other challenge with this implosion is to make sure the roof stays in place. How the implosion is supposed to go down is cutting out vent holes into the fabric and applying a thick concrete ring that supports the roof from falling.

When the Dome has its first explosion from the Dome, cable wires will snap and relieve tension holding it all up. Then the weight of the cables cords will pull down inward towards the center of the building and pull the ring inside with it. The cords pulling inwards will make the Dome Collapse in on itself within a 25-foot deep hole.

For the safety of other company’s and the community around the Dome. Poles will go in between the Georgia Dome and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, As well as a 70-foot high wall to protect the new stadium. The implosion will cause so many roads to close and begin at 5:30am – 11 a.m.
