A woman by the name of Ceijai Broughton was arrested for a DUI after slamming into the back of officer Jomo Bent’s SUV along GA-400. Bent was on duty patrolling a construction zone at the time of the crash; as soon as the incident occurred Bent got out of the car to attend to the driver but was having trouble walking himself. They were both sent to the hospital. Witnesses claim to have seen Broughton swerving in and out of lanes before slamming into the officer and Bent said she could tell intoxicated at the scene of the accident.
The officer has been released from the hospital but is still recovering; Broughton was released from the hospital as well and bonded out of jail. She is facing charges for following too closely and for violating the Georgia Move Over Law along with her DUI.
