Gov. Nathan Deal has issued an executive order suspending DeKalb County Sheriff Jeffrey Mann for 40 days as punishment for public indecency arrest in Piedmont Park in early May. Mann was arrested after an officer allegedly saw him masturbating in Piedmont Park and ran from the officer. Mann was suspended with pay for a week from May 27 through June 4th. Gov. Neal imposed a 40-day suspension which will start June 13th immediately and has issued an Executive Order reviewing the incident report and statements. Courtney L. Johnson, chief judge of DeKalb County Superior Court will appoint a replacement for Mann while he is suspended.
