FIND OUT WHAT SCHOOL DENIED SAME SEX COUPLE TO PROM.
St. Petersburg Catholic High School is A high school located in Florida who is now under fire and catching major back lash for banning a junior at the school from bringing her girlfriend to the prom. The two girls Paula Goodgame who is a senior at another school wants to accompany her girlfriend Anjali Persad to the prom but they are being denied by the school from going as a couple.
The school contacted Paula in an email and stated:
“Students are not allowed to bring people of the same sexes [as] their date. However, if you could have one of your male friends ask her as his date that would probably work. If you have any other questions about what is allowed, let me know :)”
Of course Paula responded and wanted to know why they are not allowing her and her girlfriend Anjali to go as a couple, the school replied that :
“they simply said that they wanted to keep traditions and stick to their original rules.”
Paula is upset and claims even though they have outdated rules in place this particular rule It seems because there’s a rule that you can’t bring someone over 20 to prom, and she claims that someone is bringing their 22 year old boyfriend to the dance,”
Paula vented her frustrations via Twitter and since then, the school has reportedly told her they wanted to meet with her about the ordeal.
