The beef between Taraji and Nia all started with a joke. There was no pullingg hair, no beefing over a man, no jealousy etc. It was all meant to be a joke.
Sources state that the beef began when Nia long went off on a cast member, causing Taraji to make a joke stating, “Are you on your period.” Production staff also told TMZ that Nia had showed up on set late on one way, in which one of the male actors responded with “Damn, why are you on black people time?” That’s what sent Nia into a rage. She went off on the actor until Taraji stepped in saying “What are you on your period? Is it that time again girlfriend?”
this small little spat set the tone of their relationship. It looks like Nia, being a new member of Empire, isn’t starting off on a good note. She has irrelevant beef with Taraji, and also got on the wrong side of the hair and makeup artists. It’s been confirmed that they filed a complaint against Nia for mistreating them so badly.
