Popular R&B Group New Edition Biopic aired yesterday at on BET. The three part mini series followed the popular 80’s and 90’s group from the beginning of their career to the end.
From local talent shows to their first major label record deal with MCA, the film revealed how the group was formed and got their name, New Edition, and their grassroots artist development by choreographer Brooke Payne, their naiveté to the business of music and their first post-tour check for $1.87.
The first installment was devoted to the children in the cast — Caleb McLaughlin as Ricky Bell, Dante Hoagland as Michael Bivins, Tyler Williams as Bobby, Jahi Winston as Ralph Tresvant and Miles Truitt as Ronnie DeVoe.
BET didn’t skim on authenticity for The New Edition Biopic every detail is real and accurate.
Tonight is Part 2 of the three part mini-series that airs on BET at 9 PM .
