ATLANTA AVERAGING A MURDER EVERY OTHER DAY IN 2017!

Atlanta’s deputy police chief Darryl Tolleson is concerned about an upward trend of murders across the city of Atlanta.

Starting off the new year, in 12 days there have been six homicides in Atlanta. Which is three times the amount the city had at this time in 2016.

Chief Darryl Tolleson stated,“We’re concerned about the trend, anytime you have homicides, you’re concerned. But this time last year, we had two.”

By the end of January 2016, there were only eight homicides in the city.

In 2016 there was a total of 111 murders in Atlanta. This was the first time the number was over 100 since 2008.

Atlanta PD added a “gun crime” unit because of the increase in shootings.

INCREASE THE PEACE!
