“I JUST CAN’T TAKE IT NO MORE”
In a video he posted to Instagram, Swizz Beats took the liberty to say what we’ve all been thinking — what happened to NYC’s hip hop presence?
The hip hop community in New York’s been under pressure lately, with many saying that they’ve lost their signature sound. A few exceptions have come to the forefront, including Young M.A. and Dave East, but the presence of a rising legend seems to be lacking.
So Swizz Beats announced that he’s taking on the responsibility of bringing the heat back to New York, and he definitely didn’t shy away from announcing his disappointment in the city while he did so:
“I just don’t understand what New York’s been doing. I’ve gave y’all a lot of time producers….everything. I’m not no King or nothing like that you know. How y’all let New York get to this point. I was at Harvard; I’m doing art. I just can’t take it no more.”
