MATT BARNES RESPONDS TO THE CLUB BRAWL WITH “IT WAS SELF DEFENSE” ! Matt Barnes professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings, was involved in a club brawl where he reportedly choked a woman at the Avenue nightclub monday morning. Matt says all he did was DEFEND HIMSELF after he was attacked by a violent group in the VIP section. One of Matt’s reps said that Matt was just out having a good time with Demarcus Cousins, when he sat in his Vip section and accidentally “butt bumped” a woman.
Barnes claims the woman reacted by slapping him in the face and thats when everything broke out the way it did.
Barnes claims the woman’s crew that she was with, included several men. Those men jumped in and began to get violent. Barnes was knocked to the ground in the melee and one of the men began to choke him.
We’re told Barnes then got physical in an effort to protect himself from those who were attacking him. Cousins also jumped in to defend Barnes. In footage shot moments after the fight, Cousins said he witnessed Barnes getting chocked
Barnes feels he’s the victim in the incident and is even taking pictures of his injuries which he believes backs his side of the story. More information will be revealed about the outcomes soon!
