GUESS WHAT ERYKAH BADU HAD UP HER SLEEVE THIS YEAR!
This year the wonderful Erykah Badu worked as both the hostess with the most, and performer. Miss Badu alongside her hilarious skits, also performed with DRAM, and India Arie. She definitely did double duty during the 2016 Soul Train Awards.
Miss Badu was in fact called again to host because of her positive responses from hosting the 2015 Soul Train Awards. The 45-year-old singer took the stage with D.R.A.M to perform their collaborative single “Wifi”, which was included on the Virginia rappers debut album Big Baby D.R.A.M
Another big highlight of this years’ Soul Train Awards was when Brandy Norwood performed a medley of her greatest hits, including “What About Us?,” “Full Moon,” and “Top of the World” with Mase. Brandy was also the 2016 Lady of Soul Recipient.
The show overall was a very positive look into black excellence. The Soul Train Awards never ceases to be a huge beautiful black family reunion.
