BLACK TWITTER HAS STARTED ANOTHER TRENDING TOPIC, AND STREETZ HAS THE DETAILS!
Durags are not new to Hip Hop, but the history of them sure is. For the past few years, Black Twitter has come together to provide hilarious commentary about the greatest moments in durag history.
Back in 2014, writer Vann R. Newkirk became the first to declare Durag History Week a holiday.

Since then, the hashtag has gained popularity and people from all over have posted side-splitting tweets and memes describing just how influential the durag has been.
This week, #DuragHistoryWeek has started trending once again and the people who are a part of the history are almost as funny as the history itself. People like Eminem and Moses have been highlighted as contributors to the history of the male scarf.
But, the hashtag isn’t all fun and games. It is also a celebration of Blackness and African American culture.
