Queen Latifah received the highest honor of the Princess Grace Awards for her contribution to the arts on Monday night. She was chosen for the honor by the executives of the Princess Grace Foundation-USA, which awards grants and scholarships to emerging talents in theater, dance and film. On the behalf of the award, Latifah has thanked her mother saying, “I watched her develop their self-esteem, experience and their zest for life. Just the idea, that if they dream big they can go for it, was something they learned in her art class.” Prince Albert of Monaco, speaks on the foundation and why Latifah disserves the award, he says ” She has demonstrated a devotion to helping others throughout her illustrious career as an award-winning actress, musician, and producer,” he also said “Her deep commitment to AIDS and cancer research and to programs that help the hungry, youth, women and LGBTQ community have made a difference in the lives of so many.” Queen Latifah is no stranger to helping her community and making sure every women can be more then just a house.
