“IF HIS ALBUM’S NOT NOMINATED… I’M NOT SHOWING UP TO THE GRAMMYS”
At a performance on the Saint Pablo tour in Oakland, Kanye West made yet another headline-worthy statement, saying that he is “not showing up to the Grammys” if Frank Ocean’s “Blonde” isn’t nominated. West vented, “The album I listen to most this year is Frank Ocean’s album. I’ll tell you this right now: if his album’s not nominated in no categories, I’m not showing up to the Grammys.”
The irony in West’s statement lies in the fact that Frank Ocean purposely did not submit his album for Grammy consideration. However, this hasn’t discouraged Kanye from urging the committee to find a way to nod to the album.
