Authorities say the arrest happened after officers identified McCoy as a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the incident and learned he had an outstanding warrant from a separate case. According to police, the warrant stems from an alleged assault that occurred on November 25, 2024, at an apartment on Delowe Drive in southwest Atlanta. Investigators say the incident began after a phone argument between the alleged victim and McCoy’s then-boyfriend. Police allege that McCoy and another individual later went to the apartment, where the victim was punched, knocked to the ground, and kicked during the confrontation. Body camera footage released by the Atlanta Police Department shows the moment officers informed McCoy about the warrant. McCoy appeared surprised, telling officers, “I haven’t done anything,” before complying with instructions and being taken into custody without incident. Jail records show McCoy was granted a $2,000 surety bond. As of Thursday, authorities had not confirmed whether he had posted bond or announced a court date.
