Atlanta Reveals Plans for FIFA World Cup Fan Festival at Centennial Olympic Park

0

Atlanta officials have unveiled new details about the city’s official FIFA Fan Festival™, a major celebration planned for Centennial Olympic Park during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The festival will serve as a central gathering place for soccer fans visiting the city while Atlanta hosts multiple tournament matches.

Organized by the Atlanta World Cup Host Committee, the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, and FIFA, the festival will transform downtown Atlanta into a global hub where fans can watch live match broadcasts, enjoy concerts, explore cultural programming, and participate in sponsor activations and interactive experiences.

The event will take place across Centennial Olympic Park, which will be divided into several themed zones designed to entertain fans of all ages. The Main Stage will host live concerts and major events alongside a 40-foot video screenshowing World Cup matches and highlights. Other areas include “The Playground,” offering games and activities for younger fans, “The Pitch,” which will feature podcasts, community programming, and immersive AR/VR experiences, and “Georgia Street,” highlighting local food vendors and artists from across the region.

The Fan Festival is scheduled to run for 16 days, beginning June 12, 2026, just before Atlanta hosts its first World Cup match. The celebration will continue through July 15, the date Atlanta is set to host one of the tournament’s semifinal matches.

Officials say the event will give residents and visitors a chance to experience the excitement of the world’s largest sporting event even if they don’t have tickets to matches at Mercedes‑Benz Stadium, which is scheduled to host several World Cup games during the tournament.

Entry to the Fan Festival will be free with registration, and fans will be able to reserve tickets beginning March 26, while upgraded experiences will also be available for purchase. Organizers say the event will showcase Atlanta’s culture, hospitality, and love of soccer while welcoming fans from around the world.
