Atlanta, GA — Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young took time off the court this week to host a complimentary basketball clinic for children at a local Boys & Girls Club, combining skill training with lessons in confidence and community.
Coaching Beyond the Game
Young personally ran drills, guided participants through fundamentals, and shared insights into teamwork, discipline, and self-belief. His presence gave young athletes a rare chance to learn directly from an NBA All-Star.
“Any time I have the opportunity … I’m glad to be able to,” Young said.
Building Skills — On and Off the Court
The camp wasn’t just about shooting and ball handling. Young and his team emphasized the mental side of the sport — encouraging participants to believe in themselves, support teammates, and carry lessons from the gym into their everyday lives.
Hawks’ Eyes Are Forward
With the season approaching, this outreach effort comes at a meaningful time. The Hawks are slated to begin their regular season next month against the Toronto Raptors at State Farm Arena.
