Two Georgia Players Strike $1 Million in Latest Powerball Drawing

The race for the Powerball jackpot isn’t over just yet. Wednesday night’s drawing came and went without a grand prize winner, leaving the $1.7 billion jackpot still up for grabs in Saturday’s draw.

While no one matched all six numbers — white balls 3, 16, 29, 61, 69 and red Powerball 22 — Georgia players still had a reason to celebrate. According to the Georgia Lottery, two tickets sold in the state matched all five white ball numbers, securing $1 million each.

The good fortune didn’t stop there. Six additional Georgia tickets matched four numbers plus the Powerball, each worth $50,000. One lucky player who added the Power Play option doubled that prize to $100,000.

Lottery officials are working to confirm whether the winning tickets were purchased in person or online through the Georgia Lottery app.

For players holding winning tickets:

  • Prizes over $601 must be claimed at Georgia Lottery headquarters, located at 250 Williams Street in Atlanta.

  • Prizes of $600 or less may be redeemed at headquarters, district offices, or by mail.

  • Online ticket prizes of $600 or below are paid directly into the winner’s iHOPE account, while larger online prizes trigger an email with claim instructions.

Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim prizes from draw games and 90 days after the expiration date to redeem instant tickets. Keep in mind, state and federal taxes apply to winnings above $5,000.

Saturday’s drawing could make history, but for some Georgia players, Wednesday was already a life-changing night.
