Some Chick-fil-A locations temporarily close indoor dining due to worker shortages

If you’re looking to get a chicken biscuit or a chicken sandwich today, the only option will be drive-thru for some Chick-fil-A locations.

There are at least two locations in the South that have had to close its indoor dining area due to a shortage of workers.

The locations are both in Alabama, near Birmingham and Huntsville.

“We, along with many businesses, are in the middle of a hiring crisis,” the location in Madison, Alabama wrote on Facebook.

Chick Fil A wrote:

First, we want to thank this community for the overwhelming support you have shown us over the past several months as we have transitioned into our new location. We wouldn’t be here if not for you!
We, along with many businesses, are in the middle of a hiring crisis. We are doing everything we can to hire more team members. We are seeing far less job applicants or people not showing up for their interviews. The restaurant industry has suffered from a hiring perspective during the pandemic, and unfortunately Chick-fil-A is not immune to this labor shortage.
Unfortunately, because of this issue, we are having to temporarily close our dining room, turn off our mobile curbside ordering option, as well as our mobile carryout option. This was done to help reduce the stress on the team members we currently have but also to be able to still provide you with the Chick-fil-A experience you expect, just through a limited venue. We have some of the best team members in the world. They work hard every day, but they are tired and overextended. We have grown tremendously, but we need to add to our roster.
The good news is we are committed to serving our community. We are committed to great food served by amazing people. Our drive thru and mobile drive-thru ordering option will remain open as we seek more help!
We want nothing more than to get back to normal as soon as possible. We are working tirelessly to alleviate this issue and hope to be returning all services as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and your family, and we thank you for your patience and continued support as we move through this difficult season.
Sincerely,
Norman Dull, Operator

And it’s not just Chick-fil-A that’s having issues. Channel 2 Action News has reported for months on the work shortage across north Georgia.

Earlier in August, Channel 2′s Tom Jones reported on long lines at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

“Frustration. Cancellation of flights. It’s just getting out of control,” traveler Reggie Caicedo said.

The City of Atlanta said staff shortages is causing a stinky backup of garbage pickup.

“Trash was supposed to be back on its weekly schedule, but they haven’t come now for the second week in a row,” said Atlanta resident Erin Strickland.

Businesses are offering signing bonuses and other incentives to help solve the issue of worker shortage.
