A man was taken to a hospital on Monday evening after he was shot while leaving Lenox Square, officials said.
The injured man, who was not identified, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in a private car following the shooting around 6 p.m., Atlanta police said in a news release. When officers met with the man at Grady, he told them that the shooting had taken place at the upscale Buckhead shopping mall.
“Preliminary investigations revealed the shooting occurred when the victim was near the parking garage of the location and the shooting appeared to be targeted,” police said.
The shooter is believed to have fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan and has not been located. Atlanta police have released few other details. The shooting Monday was at least the 11th at metro Atlanta shopping centers this year and the second at Lenox.
