Representative Cannon Park (D-58th District) was arrested after attempting to interrupt Governor Kemp’s press conference on a GOP-led bill that would give the legislature greater control over elections and restrict absentee voting.

Georgia State Patrol said Cannon began knocking on the door of the room the governor was speaking in.

“Rep. Cannon continued to knock on the door and was instructed again to stop knocking on the door. She was advised that she was disturbing what was going on inside and if she did not stop, she would be placed under arrest. “

Cannon refused to stop knocking on the door and was arrested on charges of Obstruction of Law Enforcement and Preventing or Disrupting General Assembly sessions or other meetings of members.

Cannon was escorted out of the Capitol and taken to the Fulton County Jail.

She has since been freed!
