Atlanta police say two people have been shot in a very busy part of Buckhead during the lunch hour.
Officers were called out to a report of someone shot in the 1800 block of Peachtree Road NW. It is right near the Chick-fil-A and Starbucks close to the intersection of Collier Road.
Police said the victims were shot during what appeared to be an attempted carjacking.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a male victim ran into the cleaners and left his vehicle running. Two male suspects entered the victims vehicle and attempted to drive off. Two good Samaritans attempted to block the suspects from leaving the parking lot and were both shot in their shoulders by the suspects,” police said in a news release.
The victims, both men, were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for their injuries. Police said they found the stolen car a short time later along Collier Road.
