The Georgia High School Association says football will be pushed back by two weeks in the fall.

GHSA told Channel 2 Sports Director Zach Klein that the first football games will begin on Labor Day weekend, with scrimmages on Aug. 21 and 28. Practices will begin next Monday.

GHSA executive director Robin Hines said there were 300 positive COVID-19 cases since June.

“We meet weekly with our sports medicine advisory council, and you know we examine the data and look at where we are and in all of these types of things.”
