POLICE SAY A MAN WAS SHOT AT LENOX SQUARE AFTER PREARRANGED DEAL

Police say a man was shot in the Lenox Square parking lot area Monday evening.

The man, who police said is in his late 40s, was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Police said three individuals met at the food court around 2:30 p.m. for a prearranged deal. They moved to the parking garage, where the unfortunate victim was shot in the stomach. The injured individual’s friend was not harmed.

The shooter ran from the scene.

Police are checking on security film to attempt to ID the shooter.

Two vehicles from the scene were towed. Police were talking with a man in the police vehicle but it’s unclear if the man was associated.

Police are still investigating what prompted the shooting.

This is the third shooting in the mall parking lot in only 3 months.

A man was shot by a cop in a parking deck Jan. 18 during a theft. Police said the man who was shot was really a friend of the robbery victim, yet wouldn’t put down his weapon. The robber was captured and the two men were charged.

On Dec. 20, two men robbed and shot an employee as she walked to her vehicle in the parking garage.
