{Streetz Morning Takeover} Instead Of Arresting Shoplifter Police Helps Her Out

A homeless mother of 4 got caught shoplifting in Wal-Mart.

Once the police were called she was not taken into custody. South Fulton Police said they sensed something was different. And they were right. As they investigated what appeared to be a routine shoplifting case at Wal-Mart in October, the city of South Fulton stated that the alleged perpetrators were a homeless mother and her four children. A lack of funds to cover the cost of medical check-ups and immunizations prevented the children from attending school. Officer Madison stated “We have a connection with the community, we are not just here to take people to jail. We are here to resolve problems” They worked with Wal-mart to help this woman keep the items and drop the shoplifting charges as well.
